FAQ

What is the composition of your socks & tights?

Lamington Merino Socks & Tights: 70% Merino, 25% Nylon,5% Elastane.

We believe this is the perfect blend of warmth and durability.  Your socks need the elastane to keep them up and the Nylon gives that little bit of extra strength to help with wear.

How do I choose the right size sock for my infant?

Babies come in all shapes and sizes. Our sizes are a guideline only and are not a one size fits all. To ensure your socks are not too tight on your infant always place a finger between your baby’s skin and the band of the sock to make sure the items are not restrictive. If you think they are too firm either scrunch the sock down, fold over the cuff, or go to the next size up. Alternatively use our Crew length socks which sit lower on the leg. Our knee high socks are designed to be worn below the knee.

What do I do if my product has a fault?

Very occasionally a product may develop a manufacturer's fault, and we will do everything we can to resolve this situation to your satisfaction. We will happily meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act if any of our products are faulty in some way. Please contact us immediately.

If I change my mind on the size or design can I exchange my purchase?

We will happily exchange any unworn socks or tights in their original condition (including original undamaged packaging). Please contact us before returning your item to let us know what you want to exchange it for and why. Please note shipping incurred with the original delivery is non-refundable, and the cost of shipping both ways to exchange the product is at your expense. Due to hygiene reasons we are unable to exchange any product that has been tried on.

We're confident you'll love Lamington™ socks as much as we do. However, if you receive your order and it is not as you expected, as long as still in original packaging, you can return to us within 30 days for a full refund.

How can I stop my socks from pilling?

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to avoid pilling completely. Pilling is caused by friction, the rubbing against another fabric or surface. To reduce pilling, we recommend washing inside out in a lingerie bag. Pilling will increase when worn to bed and with crawling age infants. The feedback we have received is to turn socks inside out for bed or have a pair specifically for sleeping.

If ordering from outside NZ will I be charged customs and duty charges?

Lamington has no control over import charges, as customs policies and import duties vary widely from country to country. If you are concerned we advise, before ordering, you contact your local customs office for more information on the current charges. We are not responsible for reimbursement of import charges, we advise you contact your local customs office before ordering if you are concerned.

What styles do you offer?

Lamington have a range of sock lengths available including tights shown in the diagram below.

Is your wool non-mulesed?

We care about the sheep that produce our fine merino wool. Our manufacturers confirm our merino wool is certified mulesed-free.
